
Our next Big Green Day will be on Sunday 24 September 2023
from 11am - 3pm
This day is an opportunity for us all to engage with our local community
and encourage local action on climate change individually.

Event Timetable
From 11am Free Tea & Coffee served in front of the church
Speakers Corner
11:30am Greenpeace South West London
Catherine Dawkins will talk about climate change and the four areas of campaigning Greenpeace focuses on.
12pm Climate Activism
Molly Clark of the Young Christian Climate Network will discuss the importance of Climate Activism.
12:30pm Resole
Moosa Nsubuga from this local social enterprise charity will talk about the reasons for recycling old trainers and their carbon footprint.
1pm Bring & Share lunch
Please bring a dish of any kind to share. Free water, juice and soft drinks will be available while supplies last. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle.
1:30pm
Revd Giles Goddard will encourage and inspire interfaith communities in their work on climate change.
2pm Lambeth Friends of the Earth
Come find out about the work this local group is doing to tackle climate change locally and how you can get involved in their campaigns.
2:30pm Repowering
They will talk to us about empowering communities to develop local renewable energy solutions that provide financial and social benefits for the community.
Workshops
11:15am – 12:45pm Creative art led by Lily Corbett Gale
Painting the Tudor Rose, working with egg tempera on gessoed paper.
11:30am – 12:30pm Mend & Repair
Darn & recycle jumpers. Bring a jumper that needs some tlc and learn from our experts.
12:30pm - 1pm Learn to compost (Eden Nature Garden)
There will be a talk and Q&A session followed by some physical digging. If you can, please bring cardboard, newspapers and vegetable peelings/kitchen compost to the session.
13:30pm – 3pm Creative art led by Lily Corbett Gale

At the Big Green Day and throughout the last quarter of 2022 our recycling drive will be collecting used trainers to be distributed to people in need through the social enterprise ReSole.
